Appearance:
Anastasia really isn't all that remarkable, herself. A bit on the diminutive and bony side, but not unusually so for her age. Reasonably well-groomed, aside from a clearly ongoing battle against her rebellious hair (and an equally clear unwillingness on her part to accept she's been beaten and trim it down to a more manageable length and bulk).
In spite of that, she has something approaching a presence about her, a je-ne-sais-quoi bordering on self-confidence that is entirely inappropriate for one of her age.
It's a lot of little things, really, none of which would stand out on their own. A comfortableness in her own skin that is supposed to be conspicuously absent in one's middle school years. A casually amiable demeanor that hints at a well-tended lack of shyness. The way that she can slouch and make it seem relaxed or weary rather than self-conscious.
It's her clothes, too. They're nothing too special, but again it's the little things. Like how she never wears the same shirt two days in a row, how none of her clothes have stains or rips, how there's not a single piece of apparel in her wardrobe whose colors have started to fade. And it's how everything always fits, garments being replaced as quickly as she can grow out of them while her peers are dealing with their sleeves being too short and shoes too big.
Background/History:
Anastasia's family has money, and lots of it. Less widely known, though by no means secret, is that they own one of Sinjoh's largest boat manufacturing companies (and have been investing in Blackbell's development). Ana herself has nice things, and people who she hangs around with tend to wind up having nice things as well. Probably as a result, although Anastasia isn't part of any particular clique or tight-knit social group, there are several which she gets to act as an honorary member of from time to time.
She had braces for part of fifth grade, and all of sixth, though since then they have miraculously disappeared.
She went to a summer camp in Johto last year, and has a seemingly inexhaustible supply of stories about the trip.
Overall, Anastasia has a fairly low profile at school. She's not all that popular (though she does get to eat lunch with the popular students when she wants to), she stays out of the really interesting kinds of trouble, and she doesn't make too big a deal out of the inevitable middle-school grudges she's picked up.

Personality: Rosaline has a fairly uncomplicated personality: she likes flowers, fresh air, and finding comfortable places to perch. She enjoys the ubiquity of attention Anastasia has to offer her, though doesn't always appreciate the girl's tendency to just about smother her with affection. There's a bit of occasional tension there--when Anastasia wants to spend a good half hour smoothing her fingertips across the bee-fly pokemon's white-and-yellow hairs while monologuing about the day's events and what's on her mind, and Rosa would really just like to find a nice place to perch undisturbed. Other than that, Rosa's mood's tend to mirror Ana's--a result, in no small part, of the latter having raised the former from birth.
Met: Anastasia's parents got Rosa for her as an egg in the summer after fifth grade. The idea on their part was that getting their daughter a pokemon more than a year earlier than was traditional, and as an egg rather than something mildly self-sufficient, would help teach her a Very Important Lesson About Responsibility, as opposed to being something she would take for granted because "well, all the other kids have pokemon now."

Name: Mindy
Personality: Mindy is a friendly, energetic creature,even around almost total strangers. She possess her species' penchant for being a neat-freak, and occasionally dips into reorganizing things as well. Anastasia has more or less given up and learned to go along with that latter habit when it manifests.
Met: Of course, when Anastasia's thirteenth birthday came around her parents weren't just going to not partake in that Sinjoh tradition. By then Ana had proven fairly competent at caring for her first pokemon, and there was more than a little bit of not wanting to feel like their child (and by extension, family) might get one-upped by their peers involved in their decision-making as well.
Other: At present, Mindy is mostly a "stay-at-home" pokemon, spending fairly little time in her pokeball, and a great deal palling around with Ana's parents' pair of Persians. Ana's quite fond of her, of course, but Mindy is more like a pet than a partner.

Despite having a fairly broad group of people who could be considered her friends, to one extent or another, she doesn't have any best friends, or even any particularly close ones.
While not bubbly, she typically maintains a positive demeanor--cheerful even when she's not necessarily enthusiastic or energetic. - Ana's parents each have a Persian among their pokemon, the pair of whom are frequently left to watch over / have the run of the house.
- Anastasia's family, unsurprisingly, has a pretty nice house--two stories, stone fence, porch, nicely sized yard, decorative garden. It stops short of being ostentatious (her parents are quite concerned with appearances in that regard), simply being a very nice house by Blackbell standards.
